تدور أحداث الفيلم بعد عودة الملك (ريتشارد قلب الأسد) من أورشليم، ومقتله في غارة على الأراضى الفرنسية، قبل عودته لأنجلترا، فيجد (روبن هود) نفسه يقود الأنتفاضة ضد الملك (جون)، حتى يعود بالتاج للبلاد، وينقلب بارونات الشمال على الملك نتيجة خيانة أحد معاونيه، لكن (روبن هود) يقودهم للانتصار على الغزاة الفرنسيين، قبل أن ينقلب عليه الملك وتبدأ الأسطورة المعروفة.
